Professional In Human Resources (PHR)

The PHR Course provides technical and operational training in HR management, including U.S. laws and regulations. The PHR will prepare participants for implementing programs with
tactical/logistical orientation and will emphasize the practitioner's operational responsibilities for the organization’s HR department. 

OSHA Saftey Training Program (WorkSMART)

Work Safe is a training program that allows participants to gain valuable knowledge on being a leader in the workplace and OSHA 10 certification in General Industry or Construction. WorkSAFE and Learning Zone, Inc. are Sister-Organizations and have worked together for multiple years. 

Work Safe teaches applicants how to adapt to a safe working environment. Work Safe trains employees about OSHA’s workplace safety and how to be a reliable leader. We train participants on identifying potential hazards. Work Safe creates a pipeline from participants to transition from general employees to supervisor positions. Having safe employees results in fewer injuries and illnesses, better morale, and lower workers’ compensation insurance premiums.  Work Safe’s program provides training for leadership and safety.

 Medical Assisting Program

This is introductory and hands-on skills program for Medical Assisting. Emphasis is placed on
the foundation of medical assisting and nursing processes as students begin to develop skills in helping patients of all ages to meet their basic needs. Areas of study include nutrition, wellness, infection control, CPR and First Aid, and AED usage, taking vital signs, Range of motion exercise, caring and safety.

 

The student will learn basic skills needed to implement the medical assistant process, with
emphasis on technology, communication and critical thinking skills in caring for patients with
common health problems. Local hospital and clinics will be used for clinical experiences.
Various methods of learning with a critical thinking approach will be used to meet each

objective.
